Why Private Lessons?

There are so many great reasons for any music student to enroll in private lessons. Over my years of teaching I have seen so many benefits, but here are just a few of the best reasons you should sign up.

One on one personalized instruction and feedback

 - Everyone learns differently, and each student learns at a different pace. Private lessons allow you to not only learn at your own pace, but also learn in a way that is best for you

Have clear goals to learning, and someone to help you be accountable.

 - It is not always easy when learning an instrument on your own or in a large group to know exactly what you need to do next and private lessons can provide you with a clear path to achieve your music goals.  Also having someone who can kindly and compassionately help you achieve those goals and keep you motivated to keep learning.

Keep it fresh and minimize frustration.

 - Learning a new instrument can be tedious at times and can quickly turn boring. Private instruction can keep your learningfresh. With different ways to accomplish your musical goals and a wide range of materials and music available a private teacher can help keep the learning new and fresh.

The benefit of the teacher's knowledge and resources.

 - Learning from a teacher that specializes in the instrument you are learning can make a big difference to how well and quickly you progress. Additionally with so much information, videos, and materials online it can be hard to know what works well and what doesn't. A good teacher is going to be able to share their years of training and resources from being in the world of music to benefit the learning of each student.  It is not always enough to have "access" to information, and sometimes having someone to show you a clear path for your skills will make the difference.

Learn how to appreciate your instrument and music in general.

 - Private Lessons are not just for those who are struggling with learning, or those who are the best of the best. A good teacher can help any student not only get better at their instrument but also learn to appreciate music on a more rewarding level.  Not every student I teach will become a professional musician but it is my hope that every student will have a deep appreciation and understanding of music. Every student is either a musician or a music advocate. I hold a firm belief that there is a place for all levels of musicianship in the process.
